Through new technology and new ways to create/ circulate writing, mobility has become a prevalent component in the writing world today. With one click of a button an entire article may be uploaded on a media platform for others to see, share, and further circulate. In the past people relied on telegrams and letters to circulate a message that took days, weeks, or months to reach the recipient. They also relied on word of mouth or a messenger to deliver the message orally. Now with the many forms of mobility and ways to spread messages within a second, more so then ever, we place an importance on the coherence of the message. "Coherence is product of many different factors, which combine to make every paragraph,
every sentence, and every phrase contribute to the meaning of the whole piece. Coherence in
writing is much more difficult to sustain than coherent speech simply because writers have no
nonverbal clues to inform them if their message is clear or not. Therefore, writers must make
their patterns of coherence much more explicit and much more carefully planned. Coherence
itself is the product of two factors—paragraph unity and sentence cohesion," with this importance on coherence and structure a writer must take into account every component of the message before sending it out in to the media platforms that have the ability for the text to travel all over the world in a short span of time. Mobility highlights the importance of structure and significance of a coherent, spreadable message.
