Technology and different social media platforms have given writers the ability to become mobile through the online web. Since writers from all around the world are able to connect with each other from a computer, a tablet, or a cell phone, more connectivity and collaborations are resulting.  Mobility has changed writing styles in the way that text-speech is more common. Using a short handed response on a cell phone, and direct message (DM), or in a comment section is a faster way to respond instead of typing out complete sentences or thoughts. Slang has become and integral part in today's society. Of course slang has always been around, but with so many people tapped into social media and technology, I would say slang is used every single day. Musicians and song writers have even started writing and singing lyrics in slang.  "Down in the DM," is a popular rap song, that talks about girls and guys direct messaging each other on Instagram. Modern writing has changed to meet the new modern language. Mobility has caused us to communicate and write more efficiently.
