Circulation is an important matter that should be looked into during the composing process, as it determines the audience and community that the text will reach, especially in the digital age . If the text does not have the spreadability that is needed it will not reach those who have the power to change something, and the exigence in which it was created for will never be changed or addressed. In the composing process one must think of the jargon they should use as it will determine how and who it will spread to, for example a Buzzfeed article is going to use a different writing style than a post from CNN, as Buzzfeed typically tries to appeal to a younger audience or people who don’t want to read a full story and want to get straight to the point. Creating a click bait title or headline is also apart of the composing process, as it needs to be attractive and shocking to gain views and captivate an audience, causing them to share the text.

In digital media the more an article is circulated, the more attention it receives from popular accounts and it gets shared through them, reaching a wider audience and in a sense building a community of those who share the text as they have all seen/read the text and occasionally internet jokes come out of it. The idea of ‘Florida man’ originated through circulation of news articles centered around weird occurrences in Florida, and through this high view count more news sites are going to compose stories that would probably get swept under the rug, as it is a proven success.

In the composing process circulation is one of the first things that should be considered, as it influences those who see it and how well it will be received. Before the digital age circulation was harder to achieve as we were limited to print text and it could only reach those who subscribed to the text. Digital media allows anything to be seen by anyone, all from the convenience of their home, which also adds pressure into how the text should be composed, as there are now more sources in which the text can be published, like two websites publishing varying texts on the same topic, they need to ensure they have the better text so it will circulate more.
