Circulation, or even the potential for circulation, contributes a great deal to the composing process. The writer has to be aware of who will be viewing his work. We discussed in class how circulation was much more limited a couple of years ago, which may have had an influence on the composing process. When a writers work is out there for everyone to critique on and comment on it may inhibit the writers ability to express exactly what they want to say because of the fear that they may be ridiculed. This stifles creativity and imaginative thinking in a way because usually the most important pieces of work are ones that are brand new thoughts and not copies of someone else's ideas. By removing the comment section of posts online, it may be a step forward in recreating someones confidence to speak their mind without immediate response like how it used to be when circulation was more limited. Although this may make the writer feel more comfortable in expressing opinions, it also defeats the purpose of a positive influence or a challenge to the writers original comment. Without a good challenge, new ideas wouldn't be made. Circulation has definitely contributed to the composing process in many ways, and this is how it's directly influenced one aspect of composing on the internet.
