Journal Response 3

In today's day and age, information circulates rapidly with the help of the internet and social media. Texts can easily circulate through different platforms. Circulation affects the composing process because the writer is more aware of how an audience will view their work. Blog posts, status updates, and videos are constantly being shared on social media like Facebook, Youtube and Twitter. In Smith's article, he states that the comment section might be obsolete on certain sites in the near future. He continues to explain the the comment section has been used for all the wrong reasons. They have been used for negativity rather than positivity. When someone posts a negative comment, they are detached to the fact that it could impact someone's life in a negative way and that the comment may be there forever unless the person who posts the comment removes it. Facebook and Twitter are great outlets for circulation. If a video on Youtube is found interesting, all a person has to do is copy the link and paste it in either a status update or a tweet. All of their friends or followers can see the post instantly. Circulation on the internet has become so prevalent that companies are hiring individuals to make sure that negative comments are not coming from their company. Those same people may be appointed to handle cases where a customer writes a negative review of a company. The last thing a business needs is a bad review that gets circulated through social media.
